A truly wonderfully written book. Perhaps too well. In one of her previous books, The Hypnotist's Love Story, I was so filled with rage at the character of Saskia I had to stop reading. It's her great strength that she can write about truly awful people so sympathetically. I almost DNFd this one too despite the riveting mystery and high quality writing.
