## Description

When the mage-king of Thendylath and his queen are slain by a demon, and the only written account of their demise is burned in a fire, the kingdom falls into chaos. For two hundred years, the truth of King Arek's death is locked within the impenetrable palace. All that remains of the king's powerful magic is a tablet embedded with gems and protected by mysterious runes.

Gavin Kinshield wants nothing more than to rid himself of the haunting visions that compel him to visit the cave where King Arek's tablet sits. When he secretly deciphers the runes inscribed in the tablet, he gains not only the magical gems, but the right to rule as king. But the dark wizard who murdered Gavin's family has other plans: to kidnap the mysterious rune solver and claim the throne for himself.

Come along on this epic adventure. It’s a breathless non-stop ride from beginning to end. K. C May’s characters are gritty and honest, flawed and yet filled with virtue, and will have you cheering for them as they face insurmountable odds to save a kingdom, and keep a promise made to a king centuries ago.
