In “Lasting Words of Lust”, Maxime, a despondent Parisian office worker, pens a final letter to his superior, Madame de Moranville. The letter recounts their sadomasochistic encounters, which escalate from foot worship and urine consumption to self-mutilation and coprophagia. Madame, a ruthless dominatrix, manipulates Maxime into degrading acts under threat of job loss, exploiting his obsession. Maxime’s narrative oscillates between ecstasy and self-loathing, culminating in his decision to commit suicide after composing this 269th discarded letter. The story juxtaposes grotesque physicality with ornate prose, exploring themes of power, transgression, and existential despair in a world devoid of meaning.
