Respect for Intellectual Property

SageChimp respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our users to do the same. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and will respond promptly to notices of alleged copyright infringement.

Filing a DMCA Takedown Notice

If you believe that content on SageChimp infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to our designated DMCA agent that includes:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed
  3. Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including its URL on SageChimp
  4. Your contact information (name, address, telephone number, email address)
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner

Response Process

Upon receiving a valid DMCA notice, SageChimp will:

  1. Promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content
  2. Notify the content creator of the takedown
  3. Provide the content creator with an opportunity to file a counter-notice

Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may file a counter-notice that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and its location on SageChimp
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake
  4. Your name, address, telephone number, and consent to jurisdiction of your local federal court

Repeat Infringers

SageChimp will terminate the accounts of users who are repeat copyright infringers. We maintain records of DMCA notices and will act decisively against habitual offenders.

Fan Fiction

Fan fiction posted on SageChimp is the sole responsibility of the author who posted it. While fan fiction may constitute fair use in some jurisdictions, SageChimp makes no determination regarding the legality of any user-submitted fan fiction. Rights holders may submit DMCA notices for fan fiction they believe infringes their copyright.
