Violence & Vigilance

Irdessa the Undying escapes her imprisonment as a renowned arena fighter in Fohrvylda but loses the one person she trusts in the process. Broken and alone, she must outwit and outfight her pursuers. Though her enemy is vast and her allies are few, Irdessa is not afraid. Basalt Kale, a failed Consonant monk of the lowest order, has chosen to improve Ausgan by killing himself. In the process he meets a heretic imprisoned below the Holy City who convinces him to give life another chance. Kale does, and discovers vile secrets of his order that he cannot abide. Death will have to wait. The heathens of Fohrvylda, incited by the promise of plunder, amass ships and beasts of war to sail the Faithless Sea and assault the monks who inhabit the tropical island Ausgan. But Consonant monks are not defenseless. Their songs weaponize nature itself. They've anticipated this war for generations and will greet the steel-bearing invaders with elemental destruction. Violence & Vigilance is an epic fantasy novel about grief and loss, vengeance and rage, set in an island nation on the verge of a long-awaited war. This gritty tale is for anyone who loves dark humor, exotic settings, savage beasts, and damaged characters.
