Free for every reader.
Paid tools for authors and publishers.

SageChimp is not free for all users. Readers never pay. Authors and publishers create accounts for free, keep most tools free, and pay only if they run an optional campaign or labeled promotion.

SageChimp is 100% free for every reader. We don't run third-party ads and we never sell your data — the site is funded by optional paid tools for authors and publishers. Anything paid to place is labeled, and paid placement never affects what our reviews say about a book.

Author tools included free

An author account includes the tools below at no charge. You only pay if you start one of the paid products above.

  • Author storefront

A public page at sagechimp.com/@your-handle with series order, Amazon/Bookshop/Audible buy links, open offers, and a newsletter box readers can use without an account. Embed the widget on your site.

  • Author dashboard and click analytics

Track reviews, shelf adds, campaign status, newsletter subscribers, and which retailer or title gets clicked.

  • Built-in newsletters

Compose and send to opted-in followers from SageChimp. Export the subscriber list anytime. No Mailchimp or Beehiiv required.

  • Author blog with RSS

Publish on SageChimp, or pull title and excerpt from an existing WordPress, Substack, or Medium feed. Full posts stay on your site.

  • Cross-promotion network

Get matched with other authors in your genre for mutual audience sharing. Built into the platform — no StoryOrigin subscription.

  • Launch Pad for debut authors

Every debut author gets a homepage slot. Not purchasable, not ranked by followers or sales.

  • Reader magnets on your storefront

Offer a free book from your storefront. Claiming it can create a SageChimp account, add the book to the reader’s library, and follow you.

  • Amazon review cross-post helper

Readers can copy a SageChimp review and open the correct Amazon review page. Submission stays manual so Amazon’s terms are respected.

  • Book catalog and pen names

Add or claim titles, manage series order, retailer links, and pen names from one dashboard.

Publisher tools included free

Indie presses get a catalog, a public press page, and author-claim workflows for free. There is no paid publisher tier. Campaigns use the same prices as authors.

  • Catalog management

Upload and manage the press catalog with covers, metadata, genre tags, and plain-text author attribution.

  • Publisher profile and SEO page

A public, search-indexed press page with catalog, genre focus, linked authors, and submissions status.

  • Publisher dashboard

Track catalog activity, reader engagement, and campaign results across titles.

  • Author network and book claims

Discover authors by overlapping genres. When an author claims a title you published, you approve the link for both audiences.

  • Genre-based reader matching

Connect titles with readers whose taste profiles overlap the press’s genre focus.

Reader tools — 100% free

Every reader feature stays free. Claiming an ARC or free eBook never costs the reader.

  • Library import and export

Bring Goodreads, StoryGraph, LibraryThing, Hardcover, BookBuddy, Libib, or a custom CSV for free. Export your library anytime.

  • Taste survey and AI recommendations

Recommendations from a reading-preferences survey and your actual shelves, not a trending timeline.

  • Shelves, progress, and reading goals

Default and custom shelves, progress tracking, yearly goals, streaks, and reading stats.

  • Reviews and unpaid-vs-ARC verdicts

Half-star ratings, rich-text reviews, and a public verdict that separates unpaid reviews from ARC copies.

  • Community features

Forums, book clubs, blogs, fan fiction, events, challenges, and follows — all included.

  • Claim matched ARCs and free eBooks

Readers never pay to claim an ARC or free eBook. Authors and publishers pay to run those campaigns.

Questions

Is SageChimp free?
SageChimp is 100% free for every reader — no subscription, no ads, and no data selling. Authors and publishers create accounts for free and keep most tools free. They pay only if they run an optional ARC campaign, Free eBook Giveaway, or featured book promotion.
Do readers ever pay?
No. Library import, recommendations, shelves, reviews, clubs, forums, and claiming ARCs or free eBooks are free for readers forever.
What do authors and publishers pay for?
Optional paid products: ARC campaigns at $9.99 per 100 ARCs, Free eBook Giveaways at $9.99 per 100 free eBooks, and a featured book promotion at $9.99 per month (cancel anytime). Buy 100–1,000 copies in one checkout (100 for $9.99, 200 for $19.98, up to 1,000). Unclaimed copies never expire. They stay available for that book until they're claimed. When those copies are claimed, run another campaign. Storefronts, newsletters, blogs, dashboards, Launch Pad, cross-promotion, and publisher catalog tools are free.
Is there an author or publisher subscription?
No required subscription. The only recurring charge is the optional featured book promotion. ARC campaigns and Free eBook Giveaways are one-time fees at $9.99 per hundred copies. Unclaimed copies never expire. They stay available for that book until they're claimed. There is no paid publisher tier.
Does paid placement change reviews?
No. Paid placement is labeled. It never changes review text, community ratings, or the unpaid-vs-ARC verdict on a book page.
