I was surprised at this book's story arch. I really enjoyed Connie's journey and all the small touches of reality that the author put in. Wonderful work!

It's very hard to get into a book when you don't like the protagonist; it's pretty bad when you can't even sympathize with the pathetic mother trying to hold on to her kid. All I wanted through the whole thing was for Catherine to die, thus leaving Bobby Dodge to return to his life, his career, and his nice cellist girl friend.
