I wanted to like this book. As a longtime lover of the super hero genre, I couldn't imagine not liking this book. But after the fantastic prologue, I did not enjoy one moment of this book. It goes without saying that Sanderson is a superb author. There is no lacking in skill here. Rather it is the descriptive style that turned me off. To me, this book was all style and no heart. I did not feel invested in or attached to any of the characters, but rather spent time being bored at yet another action sequence or lengthy description of weapons and/or super powers. Not all books are for all people, so this one was simply not for me.
