A must read for fantasy fans

This book and this series do things differently and I love it. A fantasy dystopian world (of sorts), a fresh magic system and a badass protagonist left me on the edge of my seat as I plowed through this under rated page turner.

This book sat on my wish list for more than a year. Every month, I looked at it and said, "18 hours... that's so much." So I opted for other audiobooks, wanting to keep up my rate of one book per month. Well, I finished this book in two weeks (at x1.25). From the first word to the last, I loved The Warded Man. The characters were richly drawn, even the ones who are only present for a scene or two, the world feels so real. In fact, it seems reasonable that if demons did indeed descend upon us, in a few hundred years we would be living exactly as Arden and Leisha do. I am sorry I waited as long as I did to read it, and I can't wait to read the sequel.
