An Open Letter to the Publishing Industry: From Someone Who Got Tired of Waiting for You to Fix It
The book publishing industry has spent a decade failing the people it exists to serve. Readers abandoned on a platform Amazon bought and neglected. Authors paying hundreds of dollars for tools that cost a fraction of what they charge, to reach an audience the industry was supposed to deliver. The bridge between writers and readers should have been built by the people who profit from that connection. It wasn't. So I built it.

A complete suprise
I was well acquainted with Jim Butcher when this book found me and I had no idea he wrote fantasy. In typical Butcher fashion, the book was original and fantastic. An underdog and his friends face off against an unworldly threat in epic fashion. I loved this book and all the others in this series. If you love the Dresden Files and fantasy, this is a must read.

A pretty darn good follow up to 14
While this can be read on its own, I highly recommend you read 14 first as there are payoffs that need 14 for the setup. I really enjoyed spending more time in Peter Clines Lovecraftian world. New characters, new problem but its all tied together. All-in-all, I enjoyed the hell out of this

A must read for fantasy fans
This book and this series do things differently and I love it. A fantasy dystopian world (of sorts), a fresh magic system and a badass protagonist left me on the edge of my seat as I plowed through this under rated page turner.

The perfect example of an under rated book in an under rated searies
This is a fantastic book in a fantastic series that most people never really talk about. The story is good, the prose is good and the protagonist and his journey was absolutely wonderful. In my opinion, this series is screaming for a screen adaptation. The magic system (systems really) are fresh and make for an exciting read. Highly recommended.

Not as advertised
I picked this up because it was sold as a great modern paranormal horror. It was anything but. This turned out to be a pretty transparent thriller with minor paranormal set dressing. While the concept wasn't bad, I figured out what was happening very early on which completely disarmed the "big twist". I also wasn't prepared for or wanting the graphic sexual aspects of this book. I guess if you enjoy thin plot bodice rippers, you may enjoy this.
